Drilling a bypass hole in the thermostate?
i also cut the spring enough to where it was just snug, and on drilling the holes,i drilled 5 holes in a start shape using a 1/8"in drill bit.
i drilled the holes in that bowled ridge area
around the edge of the valve body.
hope that helps man <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[USA]" title="" src="graemlins/patriot.gif" />
I am not sure it would be worth all the extra work.

a messed up cooling system. Like on one of my
project cars, I had the 'stat stagnant and it
wouldn't open on startup for a long time (like
point of boilover). Drilling the thermostat valve plate fixed this. A bypass hole ensures that
the 'stat won't be totally isolated from the
mainstream coolant flow. A little one suffices
(1/8") for that.
I guess if I had mine apart I'd do it just for
luck. Doesn't hurt anything as far as I've seen.
