ed wright programming or ls1 edit Hi i am a newby in this forum, i have a 2001 silverado 5.3 with an ati procharger 9 psi boost. I am having some detonation problems at high rpms i can fix it with really good gas, but i don't feel like putting race gas in her everytime i want to cause havoc. anyway i need some tuning. The guys at procharger said to go to ed wright at fastchips, which i live in oklahoma and that wouldn't be too far, but i have also heard about ls1 edit and i thought thatmight be the better option. I was just trying to get some opinions or which one would be better for my situation, by the way this summer i am probably going to break into the engine, which will need tuning afterwards. Thanks

Re: ed wright programming or ls1 edit If you think you would be getting more poweradders and changing things, LS1-Edit is the better choice... but you need to spend a lot of time, not just learning the program, but learning how to interpret data logs and tuning for what you see.
However, if you are close to Ed Wright and need a one-time shot, with maybe an update here or there, I'd sitck with letting someone who already knows what they are doing tune it. You probably could not get a better tune than to drive up to Ed Wright or some other knowledgeable tuner, and have them dyno-tune your car.
The mail-order tune can be ok, but needless to say, can't get it dialed in optimally... too many variables for different cars.

Re: ed wright programming or ls1 edit I am planning on headers and getting rid of cats pretty soon, and eventually getting forged pistons, porting heads, and maybe a little bit more of a cam, and raising the boost about 3 psi. That is about it. How is the preditor by diablo?
