Weird problem with 1107mV on B2 O2 Sensor...
I can simply swap the extension, but curious if anyone has another suggestion? I only tonight, and tomorrow to race, then our track closes for good. So, no racing tonight, til this is fixed.
Thanks
Charlie
1 Pulled the B2 extension, water was in the connector, used some electrical cleaner and blew it dry. Still has issue.
2 Swapped O2's from side to side. Issue didnt change (says its not the O2's)
3 Swapped the extensions from side to side, Issue didnt change (not the extensions)
4 Ran the B2 sensor straight to the harness, Issue didnt change (not the extension)
5 Seen where the insulation sheathing on the B2's wiring, at the connector was cut up a little, wiring in tact. had the log running played with the wires, no change.
6 I pulled the harness up from underneath, looked where the wiring was by the header, it did melt the loom a little, and burn mark the heat shielding tape. Wires underneath still in tact, no signs of any issues. (harness is good)
7 Checked fuel pressure, rock steady @ 58psi. (not the fuel system)
8 WTF? I am stumped.
I start the car up, the B2 is ~ 1107, B1 ~8-9xx. B1 starts switching shortly after startup, where B2 doesnt seem to move for an extremely long time, and when it does, it slowly drops to 46x and really doesnt oscillate at all (it did this with three different sensors which all switched when used on the B1 side). Once driving around, the O2's looked normal, swinging around happy as hell. After a couple WOT blasts, I stopped at the store, shut it off. Started it up, and the B1 side then was @ 1107mV, holy ****. I am confused as hell now. I am wondering the O2's havent been like this the whole time since I have uncoated SS 1 7/8" LT's???? Next I guess I could try to wrap the lower primaries until the O2 sensor to keep the heat in the tubes. Except for the intial startup after troubleshooting it, I havent noticed any more of the stuttering after startup.
I am considering going SDOL and just be gone with the whole MAF/O2 bullshit. So irritating. My luck, I am missing something so simple.
BTW, I did finally swap out the stock plug wires for some MSD's, and checked the plugs. Plugs are in tact, looked a little lean but no signs of damage.
Any suggestions are welcome.
