Upgraded OS now getting a misfire code
Upgraded OS now getting a misfire code I just upgraded my OS to an 2002 (12212156) and now my engine is throwing a PO300 misfire code. Any ideas as to why this OS would be throwing this code..? I never had a problem with it on my stock 99 OS.. Car is an A4 and causing my converter to lock and unlock randomly.

could also be due to the different VE table.... since the 01/02 cams are smaller than the 98/99/00 cams ... generally people upgrade to an 02 OS so they can do speed density tuning w/only the Primary VE table... are you tuning the car? what reason did you change the OS?
I uprgraded becasue I am going woth a new motor(347 ci 59cc heads 11.3 SCR), and it was recomended that I upgrade to the 2002 OS. My cam is a 226/234. Once I get a wideband 02 I will probally try my hand at an SD tune.

From what EFI told me it should keep the CASE data.. How do I do a re-learn if that is the case?

I have a 99 vette and upgraded to an 02 Z06 OS. My car is highly modded and I wanted to have some additional tables to work with. I got the same problem you have. I went back and looked at my DTC section and found the P0300 was turned off in mine and on in the 02. It was this way stock. That's why I never got misfires with a 112lsa idleing at 800rpm's
. Anyway, I bumped my base spark in the idle cells +6, which smoothed out my idle a bit, and raised my idle to 850rpms, and all is well. I didn't have touch my misfire cells, although I was going to go there if the previous stuff didn't work. You could also check to see if they were off in your old OS and turn them off in the new...
One other thing about CASE relearn. When I upgraded I got the P1336 Crankshaft Position System Variation Not Learned code. So I did a CASE relearn and all is well. You can do it in the scanner and it takes about 3 minutes to set up, most of it reading, and 10 seconds to do.
