Just an FYI:
I learned my lesson with the SES light. Cam sensor hi threw a code and SES light came on then went off, didnt think anything of it because it went off. Next trip it came back on and well...............now I have a 408!
Not saying its anything bad but from now on I make sure I KNOW exactly why the light came on even if it was just for 10 seconds!

I think your car throwing the SES light was a warning. Your car is mocking you. You got beat by a Ford lighting and the car was saying, "Dude, you got beat ! Twice. Quit racing him. Just because you stomp down the pedal harder doesn't mean I go faster. Stop embaressing yourself !"
The car is asking for some nitrous. :d
No seriously, it's most likley something simple from one of the many sersors in the vehicle. If autozone won't do it for you, see if you can find an AAMCO transmission somewhere. They also do it for free.
As a general rule for myself, I am a pretty causous person, if I ever throw a SES and the car has been driven hard I do a minor tune up. Pull the spark plugs and take a close look at the oil. Not that this stuff will ever throw a fault code, these are things that can lead to other bad things that will throw codes.
Good luck and I hope it's nothing serious. And watch out for Lightings.

o i didnt know amco would check them for free.. i have one around the corner.. ima go check them out this weekend...
