SES light code plz help!!!
SES light code plz help!!! Ok i read up on previous forums and went to autozone and got my car scanned...the code it gave me is P0430 catalyst efficiency below hreshold (bank 2) if im right, i think that has to do with the O2 sensor, but correct me if im wrong, just someone plz help me...thanks
Either your rear passenger O2 sensor is toast or your passenger cat is toast. Quick test would be to reset the code and switch the sensor with the rear driver's side O2. If the code follows the sensor, it's the sensor. If it stays on the passenger side, it's the cat.

Could be either a failing passenger side rear O2 sensor or a failing cat (if O2 sensor is ok, then would indicate the CAT isn't doing its job)
Easiest way to tell is to swap the 2 rear O2 sensors and see if you start getting a P0420 instead of P0430, if you do then it's a bad sensor, if you don't then it's a bad CAT

Depends on what kinda car, year and mods...
there is a federal mandated 8 year/80k mile on emissions components... so long as you don't have anything that the dealership can say caused the CAT to fail.. it should be warranty (if you meat the 8 year/80k )
Otherwise, legally you should have the CAT replaced w/a new one... regardless of wether you put a new CAT in or an ORY (off road Y-Pipe) you'll want to do one of the two since a bad cat could soon become clogged and kill performance.
If you go w/an ORY, then both rear O2 sensors would be removed and you'd either have to have O2 simms installed or have the codes tuned out.
If you're in California you're screwed since you wouldn't pass visual so you'd have to go w/the new CAT route

heheh Great minds think alike i guess heh the only mods on the car are a flowmaster exhaust system, so im hoping its just the O2 sensors...thanks for the help though. i appreciate it! if theres any more advice anyone could give me, id be thankful as well...thanks again SSpdDmon horist.
