Autotap registration?

I recently tried to use the Autotap cable that I got when I bought my car, but it won't work. The guy I got the car from didn't even give me the software, so I downloaded it from the autotap website. When I tried to use it, it asked me for a registration number. I never got a registration number with the cable and its been over a year since I bought the car and I have since lost any contact information that I had for the previous owner. Is there anyway to get around this or is the cable I have useless? I would like to be able to use it because I just made some changes to the car and I want to see what is going on. Thanks for any help or advice.

Call autotap and see if they can give you a code since youve got the cable's serial number. They might be willing to, and then again they might not.

Don't do that! Get version 1.1. You don't have to have a serial for it. Email the guys on the respective site. I had the direct link to the file but forgot it.

I tried to call but couldn't get ahold of anyone to talk to. I quess I will try version 1.0. They still have that on their site. I doesn't do much, but it might work for now.
