Why Does My Stripper Ping So Bad Some Times, Seams Like Gas
Then It Dont . Any Help. I Got Hp Tuners, seems when you get on it
real fasts it pings and goes away, and then again at upper rpms. some times
it can be worse than others.

When you mash the pedal you are falling back to pure
speed density airflow mode and this is often not trued
up to the reality of the car + mods. If you see the O2s
dip hard right before the knock blip then this is where
to begin (tweaking up the VE table in the region,
MAP*RPM, where you picked up ping. You can also
get a bit of knock by jumping up in MAP quickly and
not having PE roll on fast enough to cover it. See if
the knock detects are coming before, or after your
Fuel Air Multiplier steps from 1.000 up to PE levels.
If that's the trouble then maybe bring down the
enable MAP some. But you don't want it so low that
you step into PE all the tims, like you might on a big
cam car lugging at 2000RPM. Have to fit the envelope
to the car and the driving style and any economy /
grunt tradeoff you may prefer. You could take out
some spark and hold off enrichment if you'd rather.

The high RPM stuff may be knock sensor sensitivity,
false knock, engine mechanical resonances that just
happen to fall in-band of the knock sensor filters at
certain RPM. You could play with sensitivities some
if the RPM is very consistent, just presuming that
there is no flakiness to the fuel or spark at that point
to blame.

I hate to hijack your thread but I get kr when my stall locks up. Also if I'm cruising around with tip in around 50-60 mph. Again sorry!!

The way I fixed the "mash the throttle" issue was to up the burst knock tables a little bit (about 2 degrees). Basically, mashing the throttle introduces a huge airflow change that the PCM has a hard time keeping up with. The burst knock table temporarily retards timing to prevent KR, but reintroduces spark a lot faster than if timing was originally retarded by KR. As for the "up top" KR, you might just have a little too much timing up top. People say 28* is good for up top, but I don't always agree. It varies from car to car. Try blending in just 2 additional degrees up top to the stock table and see if it runs any better...
