Default P1637 Generator L-Terminal Circuit HELP!!!

Is This Code Almost Always Caused By A Failing Alternator?

There Isnt Much On This One But Eerything Ive Read Seems To Point To Alternators

Im Throwin This Code, My System Voltage Seems To Low (as In My Alternator Dosent Charge) And There Is A Annoying Squeek Comming From My Engine Bay ?

Im Thinking Alternator But Just Wanted To Get Your All Thoughts ....

It's that one wire that is on top of the alternator. Due to the stress of daily driving, that wire becomes stressed and will eventually break off or just get loose from the terminal. I had that problem and regret that I waited to long to get it fixed. I got my replacement at the dealership for about $35 bucks. The one they give you has 4 wires attached to the plug, just cut the other 3 you don't need and leave alot of slack to avoid the lack of slack from the original.

cool.. i recently put in a new alternator and as of now it seems to me randomely turning on and off
also i did extend that wire but mabye its a bad connection.. i used a gauge wire for my extension could this be causing an impedance problem also i used a crimp to connect the two

Had this same problem in mine. I changed the 4 pin connector on the top and got it fixed like Dmoney said
