any quick VATS workaround?

any quick VATS workaround? Any easy, quick way to 'hotwire' it one time?
My 93 had the VATS resistor mod by the previous owner, and last week the security light came on, and the car wouldn't start. (fuel pump on, turn the key, and some of the lights in the dash go off, like it's starting but NOTHING!) I pulled the underhood IGN fuse and put it back in, and VOILA! started right up. Now, last same thing happened, but nothing will reset it. I can pull the in dash ign fuse, security light goes out, put the fuse back in, and as soon as the key is switched ot on, the light comes back on, and stays on, until that fuse is reset again. I really just need to get it home for now.
