question about tuning software.... Just something I was wondering about....
With both EFI LIVE and HPTuners, can you scan any obdII cars for codes, DTC's, etc just like with the Predator programmer. Or, does each car have to be associated with a VIN or certain year license even for just scanning.
I thought I read that hptuners can scan any OBDII cars without affecting your credits, but I wasn't sure about EFI Live.

Both can scan most obd2 cars/trucks/suv's...both have limitations though...hpt will scan all the enhanced parameters ie KR, A/F ratio commanded, etc. for any car/truck/suv it supports & will not use a license...but both efilive & hpt on some gm obd2 cars can only scan generic parameters currently example 96-97 LT1 powered cars..yes they are obd2 but both efilive & hpt can only scan generic parameters such as mph, rpm, tps...simple stuff basically. HPtuners will soon allow you to scan OBD2 fords/dodge vehicles since they are adding them to their support list and efilives V2 is supposed to have more support as well ie obd1? and some other cool stuff. But yes both will scan obd2 gm products and you will not need to use any licenses to do so for either.
So, just to clear this up for me some more, can EFI live (version 2) also scan cars such as cavaliers/sunfires, grand ams, grandprixs/bonnevilles, and gm trucks?
It sounds like hptuners can be used on those vehicles but I wasn't sure about efi live on those vehicles as well.
