Nebie here, need info for setting LS1 in SD mode!

Nebie here, need info for setting LS1 in SD mode! I have a 01 WS6 cammed and I now need to tune my LTFT's I have Hptuners and checked out a thread how to and they told me wrong somehow. Here is the order in which I was told.
-Copy Low Octane table to High Octane table
-Go to Power Enrich and select HOT, next select cells from 0-7200 and replace values with 100.
-Re-write PCM, Unplug MAF
-Start up car(may idle wierd)
-On scanner choose VCM controls, select Fuel and Spark
-Start scanner
-select Reset Fuel Trims
-Drive minimum of 50 miles
Well I did all this and the damn car wouldn't keep idleing and and would choke if I touched the gas. I know something was wrong with how I was told to do this, could someone with know how please help and tell me the correct way! Many thanx!
