Default Scaning Abilities HP vs. EFILive

Well.. I think Im set on EFIlive, love the new interface thats on its way (which I plan on waiting for).. Just one Q.. Incase a friend gets a CEL on his silverado and I want to check it for him, do I have to use a credit or license to read the codes on that car, or is that credit/license system just for tuning?

Thanks,

John

You only lock a license to a VIN when you write a tune to a PCM. You can read/scan as much as you want with the EFILive software/interface.

Another note on that.....

Efilive is going to have obd1 scanner support also on the same cable.

Once you use Live's scanner and then go to another scanner, you will see why it is the prefered scanning program. It has more features and benefits and is more customizable then other brands. The scanner is the main aspect of EFILives package that sets it apart from the rest. You may do all the clearing of codes you wish without using any licenses.
