16" to 17"?

16" to 17"?

just changed to the 17" ss rims, just wondering if i need to change anything in my comp?

as long as the overall height remains the same you dont (ie 275/40/17).

in order to say for sure if anything needs to be changed... need your old tire height and new tire height (example... 275/40/17 ... wheel diameter is 17, sidewall radius is 1/2 wheel diameter + 275/25.4 * .40 (*40 is aspect ratio, it's a percentage of sidewall height compared to tire width... which is what the 275 value is... in mm)

so 275/25.4*.40*2 + 17 = new tire height (replace values w/your tire specs)

so long as new is close to old, no changes needed

245/50/16 to 275/40/17 ill be honest the equation confused me a little bit. i got 23 for the 16 and 25 for the 17???? can someone check this...

its ~.1 of an inch off...so its up to you if you want to have your speedo adjusted...it probably wont make more then a mph or so difference at 50mph.

LOL, wont start huh!?! you wouldnt believe what the guy at monroe muffler was telling me about changing tire sizes. first the 275/40/17, in his opinion, only belong on SUV's, he couldnt figure out why i was putting them on a camaro. second, he told me to take off the 17" and put back on the 16", cause 17" aren't stock for it, it just wont run right. and finally with 16" tires he could save me a hundred bucks. a 100 bucks, whopidity doo! i had a hard time restraining myself from slappin the stupidity out of him!! well, i got a laugh out of it anyways.
