Default Ls1 edit or Efi live?

Looking at getting into the game and wondering which way to go?

Car is a 98 c5 m6 full bolt on h/c car.

Is Efi live worth the exta dough with the scanning tools and ve autotune feature?

I do have a lm1 wideband installed currently

EFILIVE come std with the enhanced IO , extra cost on HPTUNERS.

It really comes down to the scanner interface , and I have never seen anyone go from EFILIVE to HPTUNERS , seen a lot of people upgrade from HPTUNERS to EFILIVE , myself included.

98's are also a free license on EFILIVE

Enhanced IO is basically the ability to interface with the cable extra features such as a wideband. I am currently offering specials on EFILive and as Tomcat said, with EFILive 98's don't require a license so you will have the ability to tune two more 99+ vehicles.

the "extra cost" makes HP Tuners EIO price the same as EFIlive at $649. We also have a $150 cheaper non-EIO interface if you are never going to connect a wideband or other external sensors. For your $499 or $649 you can tune an unlimited number of 98 LS1's with HP Tuners if you choose.

Considering i have some efilive cables here that people have traded in, i would also assume it does happen that people switch from efilive to HPT... just that we don't post the fact all over internet forums

no need to "purchase" anything more than the inital $499 or $649 package. It ships with 8 free credits that you can use in any way you like. single LS1 vehicle is 2 credits, unlimited 98 is 6 credits. Either way its more than you need.

EFILive comes standard with everything you need to scan and tune. No hidden cost, no BS on the licensing. The EFILive forum is a great place for you to ask questions specific to EFILive. Lot's of expertise on the forum waiting to help you.

EFILive is the best LSx tuning suite on the market. But, if for some reason you decide it's not for you, stear clear of LS1Edit. Edit can get the job done, but it's rather archaic with todays options and limited on support.

show me the BS? i never said we offer free tuning for 98's, all i said was for $499 or $649 the guy (who doesn't own anything) could tune an unlimited number of 98 LS1's with HPT which is exactly the truth.

You guys keep saying he has "extra cost", "purchases" and "hidden costs" which is just plain false.

fotoboy, i'm sorry to bore you with this correction of misinformation.

Not what I said. My statement, taken in context:

was to let him know the EFILive purchase is straight forward. EFIlive includes the state-of-the-art flashscan interface allowing the end user to log 2 external 0-5vdc analog inputs as well as 1 Type K thermocouple input. Personally, I use mine to log an LC-1 on both banks. Non-workshop packages include unlimited '98 tuning and 2 '99+ PCM's. Additional PCM's can be purchased for $99 each. Workshops are unlimited.

^^^^^ Complete and no hidden cost ^^^^^

funny how .... HPT coins the term "EIO" but tomcat jumps all over keith (like tomcat usually does... never seen him post anything USEFUL in this section).... yet no one better associate "Auto-VE" with HPT (even though HPT offers the same thing and has longer) (also... EIO = Enhanced Input/Output... EFI only offers Inputs right? no outputs? so then it DOESN'T include Enhanced IO )

Yet all the while... when a certain company is MONTHS behind the projected schedule (what was projected early this year for some new hardware) those same people... who are quick to rip on HPT when they don't release stuff as quickly as they'd like... say nothing....

things that make you go hmmmm....
