Default boost timing????????

The search is broke, i tried.

I just updated to a 2 bar setup in HP tuners. What should my low and high octane spark advance tables be like? I have no idea what to initially set them.

also how is the "air mass" measured? Im guessing the MAP, right? Why isnt it in Kpa like the VE table? Im confused. can anyone explain how this works?
thanks.

Boost timing is different for every engine combo, but 12-18* is a good start.

12-18 for the entire table? or where on it?? on the VE table its 0-100 =vacuum-atmosphere 105-200=atmosphere-boost.

Can someone tell me where boost is on the spark table and how to read it.

Spark is measured in grams/cylinder. NA cars with bolt-ons will hover in the .72~.88 columns at WOT depending on air densities (altitude and temperature). When you create boost, you're forcing more air into the cylinders. As a general rule, I'd say anything above .80 grams/cylinder is where boost starts to kick in.

you can leave your *part throttle areas on the table alone, only change the area of the table where you come under boost

I can shoot up a screenshot of my timing later cause my laptop is in my car... for a starting point try flatlining everything from 3200rpm up and between .76 and 1.20g/cyl to 12*, that will be on the safe side, then slowly bump timing until kr as long as your fuel is on target, lowest timing @ peak tq, highest timing @ peak hp... mine goes from 14*@4k to 20*@5600 and up... kind of understand what I'm saying?

first find where on the spark table is the 'boost' area. then change it to 12* (it's way safer to start low then to start high and blow up) remember that even at 0 psi, that's more pressure than most NA setups get. so anywhere > 101kPa you better default to something safe. spark tables are unfortunately not in MAP but in DynCylAir, so first you gotta correlate the switchpoint from <0 boost to >0 boost to DynCylAir. it's a simple histogram to make, MAP vs DynCylAir. you'll learn at what DynCylAir your MAP goes into positive boost territory, so use that to guide you with your PE triggers and spark values

here's my table on 91crap gas and alcy, you can see where it level's off, thats the boost area, just drop those number's lower to begin with, also your all around timing may be different due to engine specifics, weather, and fueling.. and learn to play w/the interpolate and smoothing...
