Default tuning question

about to do a h/c swap and then of course get a tune. i have a bbk t/b and a granatelli maf on the car right now. with the tune, will they both be overkill? will the tune be able to compensate for the difference between my stock parts and the aftermarket bolt-ons? or will the aftermarket parts only enhance what the tuner is out to do?

There is no such thing as overkill (at least in what parts you talked about), if you go to someone who knows what they are doing there wont be any issues.

could i expect similar results from stock ported/modified pieces with a good tune/tuner ? or is there no substitution for the aftermarket stuff?

the modified pieces(the MAF for one) is not the smartest thing to do. unless calibrated it normally hurts your performance.

stock and ported stuff... what size bbk TB did you go with? 90mm?

if you didn't go 90mm please invest in a Nick Williams 90mm TB people who sell them are : thunderracing and ls1speed among others

how close are you to jupiter florida or palm beach?
i'm making a trip down there this coming Friday thru Wed, we might could meet up.

so would i be just as well off with a stock maf and a good tune then?

bbk is a 80mm tb. as i have an ls6 intake.

if you are driving from n.c. you drive right thru jacksonville. if you looped 295 around town rather than 95 thru you are like 5 miles from my house. but swap probably wont be done as i am still waiting on gaskets. if driving, shoot me a pm on what time you might be passing thru and maybe we could hook up for lunch. i know a spot really close to 295 that has great wings. as long as you dont mind eating at a place called gators.
