What do I need
What do I need Im doing an LS1 swap into my 89 camaro, i just need to know what i really need as of a tuning program. I just want to read codes, calibrate Tach, get rid of vats and monitor the motor while i drive. I dont need all the other stuff. Not going to tune my car, to scared. So if you guys can point me in the right direction that would be great. did a search but seems like alot of people are also doing tuning. Thanks

Opps sorry, just realised you wanted logging too......
I would suggest HP Tuners, I use it all the time, get on very well with it, certianly I would recommend it. Mind you its about the only logging program I used apart form EFI Live, but I had an early version and I dont think it was complete as couln't change anything only do logging.

I went to there web site and left them a email, but i dont know what to get?? So is so many things. Could you help me out on what to get from HP Tuners? And how much did you spend

I got mine a long time ago, about 2003 ish, I remember it was version 1.5 at the time I got it, they are now on 2.1.
For regular logging you dont need the EIO, this is only if you want to add external sensor,s like a wideband read out, but there are other way round not using the EIO, I use the EGR input for my wideband, therefore was free. :O)
You would just require the VCM Suite GM Std. $499.

Ok thanks alot bro, You really cleared that up for me. I feel alot better about this. Also, is this only for one car or what? could i use this for other camaro's with LS1?

I think the newer ones you buy from HP tunners will support two cars. I have used HP tuners to scan a 98 camaro and it worked. I have the software licence for a 2000 model. I've only been tuning my own car, and havn't really tried any others, mind you I havn't seen another LS1 for about 2 months now, apart from my freind 2001 firehawk.
