Default CR vs octane

Just thought this question might be better answered in the tuning section, just in case. Anyway, someone got some input on compression ratio vs "proper" octane fuel? For instance 11.25 to 1, fuel selection? How high can I go for pump gas? How big of a part does the tune play in this?

Thanks in advanced.

DCR is where its at dude, not SCR, 93 should let you get to 8.3 or so. ECT, IAT, chamber design, coatings, quench, spark plugs etc also have an effect. Have a read here http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tec...power_squeeze/
