its actually very simple and you know my phone # if you need help, but pretty much
1. connect hardware to computer
2. open scanner-SCAN-START SCANNING(without being connected to a vehicle)
3. this will start the UPDATE FIRMWARE screen, at that point just update the firmware
4. At that point connect to a vehicle and pick what you'd like to scan via the table display
5. Go to SCAN-MPVI PRO DATALOGGING
6. Click Write config
7. remove laptop from vehicle but keep hptuners hardware connected to the vehicle
8. hold start for ~2 seconds then start vehicle, or start vehicle then hold start for 2 seconds
9. drive
10. hold stop for ~2 seconds
11. hook up laptop to hardware & go to SCAN-MPVI PRO DATALOGGING
12. hit read logs
13. save individual logs
14. review

now theres many more things that can go into it
1. 32 individual logs can be taken
2. 1.25mb in size depending on how many fps your taking in it can log nearly 2 hours of data
3. you can erase logs without the need for a laptop
4. The record light will blink when your down to 10% storage space left on the hardware

theres a detailed section in the help file but within 10 minutes loading the new software I was out at my gtp testing it out

Glad I got my upgrade now, I was expecting this. This will make logging for Jen much easier, as she can't easily reach over to the laptop and hit th spacebar button while strapped into a 6-point harness and doing well over 130 mph. Plus no more worries about my laptop having enough juice and being ready to log at the stagging lanes ... heaven forbid someone breaks when we are the next to go, then I have to shut down my laptop to conserve power.

Oh, I like the extra thick, yet shorter, cable much better now.

There is nothign to it. 2.1.10 has the stuff in there already. It is only one tab to click on and the options come up, VERY easy to use

97% of memory used and I had 60 min 10 sec of logs. about 50% more than my computer does before it dies. Plus it makes the ride more enjoyable, dont have to keep looking at the computer. If it is there I look, if its not I just hit record and enjoy

very good...there were some early bugs that we got worked out with a new firmware update and they are adding some other features that we are requesting as we are going. I think SE was able to get a full 24byte log of over 65mins of data the other day & most have had no issues at all. They are looking to give you a bug free system that will work flawlessly.

Here's a dumb question....
Can you take 2 log files and combine them into one big log file?

Good to hear , around an hour log with what used to be the maximum byte number sounds good .
HPT has come quite a long way from when i first got it and it's going to be interesting to see what else is in 2.12 .

Do you need anyone to try some longer logs , i am going to be traveling from Perth to Darwin to see the round of the V8 Supercars thats on , think it's about 2480 miles one way (starting the trip monday or tuesday next week) .

Holy heck, that is a long distance. Be sure to root for the Super Cheap Auto cars (HPTuners "sponsored").

There is also a way to add markers when logging. I think this is pretty cool. This is one of the things I really wanted because I always like to make markers in odd spots of a log. Just have to press and hold the record button for a second or so and it inserts the marker.

Its amazing how powerful the ability to insert markers into your log while using the interface standalone datalogging is.

I've been using it to point out part throttle shift points that I think need tweaking.

It sure is a handy feature to have. I have used my BlackBox logging over the past year and LOVE it.
