Default Irate idling issue!

When I drive home from work during the night and not trying to be a creep to all my neighbors, I put my car in neutral (m6) and coast down the street to my house. It is better this way, and usually sits at 900 rpm’s at a quite solid idling tone and not too loud. Sometimes it will rise to above 1600 rpm’s and hold there until I bring the car to a stop. It is freaking loud at 10:30 PM when I roll down my street and the car wants to jump to 1600 rpm’s! Tonight I had the t-tops off when it did it and I overheard some of the neighbors hanging out in there driveway say, “there goes that ******* in the loud car…” Mad but concerned at the same time about their gripe, I would like to find out how I can fix this problem. So far I have tried cleaning the IAC valve but it does not fix my problem. Anybody (tuning gurus) ever heard of or fixed a problem like mine before? Could it be just a cam idle issue I have to just deal with? It comes and goes, so this is a concern to me if there is a real problem I need to fix.

Thanks,
Loud and sometimes not proud

I forgot to mention that if I put my car in gear while it does this, the car takes off llke I have the car on cruise control down the road but the iddle sits at 1100 doing so. It makes the exhaust noise queiter, but then I have to ride the brakes or exceed the posted speed limit by about 10 mph. There are a lot of little kids in my neiborhood, so the latter is not acceptable, even to a dirt bag like me.

Default same boat.

same prob here... mine will idle(not all the time) up like that when i kick it in neutral, round 1600-1700... i notice that it pull going down the highway also when i let outta the gas. it didn't do this before i had the car tuned. would a vaccum leak cause this? i thought if it were a vaccum leak that it would idle fast all the time? i installed a fast intake after my tune and it seems to be doing this more often now.

It is most likely an issue with your throttle cracker and/or throttle follower tables. Tweak them and it will fix the problem.

I have the same issues, A/C turned on makes it even worse. More tuning should eliminate. Xaon mentioned something that the guy at Vector Motorsports also mentioned. Going to let Kirk have a crack at what LG Motorsports didn't have time to finish because I had to get back to Michigan for work. Good luck, I'll post if my problem is solved or not, and what corrected it. Good luck everyone. Big cams can be a pain, but oh well, (G5X3)

It will be the Cracker table, follower isnt active unless throttle is involved, though its worth checking delay and decay tables on the off chance that they are set way too lazy.
But summary is cracker table at the values you are coasting at needs reducing. Likewise you can remove airflow from the AC tables.

yup, cracker + RAF, and of course, IFR and VE has to be done right, otherwise it's all moot

Drilling the hole without knowing whats up is like russian roulette. Once you are done you cant go back! Best to make sure of the issue first. Drill as a last resort.

It will make it worse.

The reason your idle hangs is because the tune is requesting additional airflow upon letting off the throttle to keep it from "slamming down" too far. Your car needs to be retuned to have those requested airflow figures lowered as to let the idle settle down properly.

Drilling a hole in the throttle body only lets in more air and would cause the problem to become worse.

In the mean time, pay attention to what speed you're going when you push in the clutch. The Throttle Cracker table they're referring to has different values at different speeds, so it will be consistent in its effects when you push in the clutch at the same given speed.
