Default locked computer

I already had a dyno tune done at a shop thats a sponser here, so I won't mention there name, but if they locked my computer, can another tuner get into the computer and perform their own tune? Or am I stuck with having to back to the first place.

Wow, I haven't heard anything about locked computers since the pre LS1 Edit days. Ed Wright and a few others locked them back then but I don't think it's being done now. Unless you had issues why not go back to the sponsor? The problem is most tuners charge $350-500 for the initial tune and then $100-200 for subsequent tunes, so why pay the possible big upfront $ again?

^because when I walked into this place, 3 technicians were yellling at each other and throwing their tools around $50k cars in a rage. I don't personally want to go back to a place that employs childern as technicians. I'd much rather go to a different place that has already tuned cars that I built in my garage with no complaints and or problems. Sure it's about 2 more hours of trailering my car, and about 100 bucks more expensive than a re-tune at this other place. I'm just trying to figure out if I have to go back their or if this other place can tune my car.

Depends on the software they used. I've been able to pull "locked" ls1edit files with hp tuners.

Yes I have the ability to unlock any pcm ( be it LS1edit , HPT or Flashscan ), 98% of the time we can also recover the tune inside.

Downside is I am in OZ so you have some downtime while it gets freighted back and forth.

I am sure you would have some knowledgeable guys over there that can hack the PCM in the same way.
