stumbles, backfires and then dies

It started yesterday on my way home, the car was running normally then it started to stumble and backfire. then it smoothed out and ran fine for a mile or so then same thing. once I was in the nieghborhood it did it again,except this time it sounded like a damn machine gun for a moment before dying. Any suggestions? the plugs and wires look fine. If an 02 is bad how am I sure which one of the 4 it is? And there is no SES light. Thanks

I'd get it scanned even if the SES isn't on. Battery voltage/connections good too?

will do, the batt/charging system has bee checked and is fine.

front O2s are usually the culprits, check other ignition components, possibly CPS issue, check engine grounds as well
