Default Vacuum modulated tranny - disable pressure control circuit codes?

I have a vacuum modulated 4L80E, and my PCM is throwing a Pressure Control Circuit code. Anything wrong with just disabling the code in the tune?

You can do that.

The computer dont have the ablity to change pressure any more.

Cool I thought it would be ok - just wanted to be sure that disabling the code wouldn't screw anything up. Thanks Jesse

No prob. It kinda sucks that they put in the vacuume mod because then we dont have complete control of the trans pressures, but it makes it easier on the trans builders when the tunes are not set up correctly and kill the clutches prematurely.

That's what my guy was worried about - I asked him to put the EPC back in, but he said he has seen problems with tunes getting changed inadvertently and breaking parts. Sucks for me cause to get my manual 1st and 2nd to work correctly for towing I have to have a Gear Command valve body, so I'll be full manual except for OD. Shift points are screwy too, the tranny doesn't shift exactly when the PCM tells it to at WOT so I had to manipulate the shift tables to compensate (like telling it to shift at 40 mph/5900 RPM to get it to shift at 60 mph/6300 RPM from 1-2). Also, since I am FI I get full pressure shifts at about 40-50% throttle.

yeah, full pressure shifts at part throttle are pretty bad on your drivetrain. It is ok on a light vehicle but not on a big truck. All that momentum has to go somewhere. Usually it is absorbed by your drivetrain before expelling thru the tires.
