Is my car tuned or edited by ls1 edit???
Is there a way for me to find out if my car has been edited by ls1 edit? i have several SES lights(P0135 P0175 P0176 i think...) that come on and go off every other day. When i bought my car there was a receipt from a performance shop for an ls1 edit tune but can i trust that? what if it was just a quote and it never was done? is there something else i can look for? i have reason to believe that my car is not tuned...
My O2 sensors are good but ses says otherwise
I have a comp cam, and sometimes idle acts really funny in the mornings to the point where the car turns off by itself
i have a 160 thermostat set up ( i think) and still run a constant 210+ degree level and fans dont turn on till about 180ish
and i get running to rich on both bays codes. (11 mpg city w/ an m6= pretty shity)
If it were edited dont you think that all this would be ok or accounted for or fixed?
AND
Can and will a LS1 Edit tune fix all of these simptoms? do you think that this can improme my performance/HP or fuel economy?
thanks in advanced....
Jerry

Yes you can tell.
Ls1edit clears a blank spot in the eeprom for storage of the companies notes and special data. So if it is read, you can tell.
Tuning can fix many problems. It is just depends on how good the tuner you choose is.
They will need to know cam specs. If the fans are comming on at 180 then it is tuned.

The guys that make LS1Edit make a HUGE distinction between the terms "tuned" and "edited." According to their own web page, (i) they do not make tuning software only software that edits, (ii) they don't take responsibilty for your edits.
I have asked them many times to write a user manual on tuning that could be understood by all. Apparently, they are afraid of getting sued by GM, software buyers, and the EPA and flatly refuse to do so.
Accordingly, this blows.
