just started trying to tune... "cable not worky?"
just started trying to tune... "cable not worky?" I just bought hp tuners and the serial to USB cable and I have tried everything and it says "cable not connected make sure car is on RUN" and doesn't do anything... I know its picking it up because everytime i plug it in my car it says USB/serial device found and that install wizard pops up asking me to connect to the internet to search for drivers or something.... someone help out a newbie please??!?!?!? thanks

Computer does not recognize the USB/serial
unit, take a step back and follow the install
directions for that. Then if it doesn't get to
hook up with the scanner check out OBDII
connector power, COM port assignments etc.

Some of the USB to serial connectors are junk. I paid thirty something dollars for mine. It's a Belkin. No issues here but my friend said that he knew a couple of people who had issues with the adapter. There was a few times I had to unplug the USB side and reconnect it, then put the ignition back into the "on" position. Keep trying.
