Default What are the symptoms of a bad MAP sensor?

All of a sudden my car is fouling plugs at idle (misses) but clears up in higher RPM range. Could this be a bad MAP sensor or maybe a fuel regulator problem? Sorry, I have not scanned the car yet.

Can puddled fuel in intake (caused by leaking nitrous fuel solenoid at idle)cause the MAP sensor to go bad prematurely?

More likely the low end tune is just bent, rich,
from thew cam and headers' various effects
(pumping VE and cooling / O2 laziness respectively).

Thanks jimmyblue,
I was shifting into third gear at about 30mph then suddenly car started missing. The car hasn't idled well since? Would a bent tune cause this?

if you scan it you will see immediately if teh MAP sensor is bad....
when it goes bad it immediately defaults to 100kpa....so it would dump in fuel like that...

scan it with something and find out for sure

most likely it is not in teh tune as it would have gone bad long before that if it was in the tune

Thanks Soundengineer,

So while scanning, what codes do I look for?

Are these the codes: PO107 low voltage, PO108 high voltage

that seems right...but I dont have my list in front of me..

a buddys car had an issue with his map sensor...we pulled it out and it was just plugged full of gunk....cleaned it out...let it dry out...fixed it in his case...

basically if when driving you see erratic or unreasonable map values..like 100kpa at idle...or when you see it jump from 30 to 70 to 50 to 80 all within teh blink of an eye...then your sensor has issues...
