Default Rev Limiter problem???? need help

I just had my car tuned after trex plus rest of bolt ons and a manual valvebody th400 with a 3500 stall i had it tuned at TTP in nj by me they ran it up on the dyno to 6800-6900 with no problems limiter was set at 6900or 6800 cant remember but when i took it to the track on wednesday it was hitting the limiter at about 6200 on the 1-2 shift WTF??? So i make my next pass same thing so im thinking maybe the rev limiter isnt set right so i use the hypertech to to adjust it to 6600 thats as high as it would go so i make my next 2 passes same crap now im really pissed because my best time was only 12.26 at 110 w 1.72 60ft time hitting the limiter on the 1-2 shift and shifting 2-3 at 6100 with cam headers underdrive pulley 3.42s and nitto drs. So i went back to TTP Matt who tunes over there checked the program said it was set right and didnt know what i should do????? Im clueless Anyone with some ideas????

Is it possible that having a manual valve th400 is causing the computer to use the park/neutral rev limit for some reason?

That could definitly be it but how would i fix that????
Could it have anything to do with wiring the vss to the wheel sensor?

just change the rev limiter for the park/neutral values to your drive values.

not an answer, but just goes to show it happens in other cars as well.

There is also another rev limiter for when the computer thinks the vss sensor is bad. Just change the rev limit for that table if it is the problem.

OK I pulled out the wire from the wheel sensor i had connected to the vss wires and got an xtra 200rpms for whatever reason so it now goes to about 6400. also on the stock auto shifter harness i had a paper clip put between the connectors for the neutral safety switch so the car started because it thought it was in park but no luck with that. So im still missing 400rpms out of the rev limiter im going to try setting it with the hypertech tommorow to 6600 again when i go to the track... to bad its gunna be 104*+ out tommorow so time are gunna suck anyway

I dont have any software to edit anything.

His p/n values are also set for 6800RPM. Raffi I dont remember do you have an aftermarket tach in the car? You might be going right to 6800rpms, but the stock tachometer readings are horrible and you may only see low 6000 figures. I have numerous cars that wont go past 6500, even though they rev to 7200

This has me thinking.
Most people aren't holding WOT during the burnout, so maybe the TPS position or calculated torque has something to do with the limiter acting up.

Whats calculated torque and could existing tranny codes be causing this?

Default Revlimiter problem

Hello, I have a 1999 Camaro ss SLP LS1 6 speed and I am having a similar problem . Look at my forum on 1st page for details! My car is hitting limiter at 5800 rpm 1st and 2nd and then 3rd and fourth goes to 6200rpm to 6400rpm with A SLP diablosport tuner set at 6500rpm . IT also is doing the same thing even with the stock tune. I was told from diablosport there is a reluctor wheel and pickup in the back of the block [ behind bell housing] which controls revs can go bad. Gm told me about a crank sensor as well as fuel limiter sensors and variuos rev sensors. They are even saying with all these sensors you can have a problem even without a check engine light on! I dont know what to do but if any of this info rings a bell Please let me know! If I hear of a fix I will fill you in . Jamie

On my 99 the rev limiter works as set until I spray then the 1st to 2nd rev limit is at 6,200 and the 2-3 kicks in around 6,400 instead of 7,000 like the other gears. I dont hit the 7,000 RPM but logging shows 6,700-6,800 RPM when I shift.

Again if I am not spraying all is good. Does this have something to do with calculated torque or the VSS paramaters? This is the question to answer. I was hoping I would get on here and find the answer
