Default permenant in-cabin wiring for LC1

Those of you that have your LC1 permanently wired into the car (in the cabin), what are you guys using for the +12v and ground ?

Is there a high current hot wire in the cabin that's ignition switched that I can tap into ? I can probably use the ground wire from the cigarette lighter but I need to find a suitable hot wire (not the stereo).

Thanks,
Rob (Bad30th)

i use the one off of my TCS. if you dont have that, you could use the 12v accessory in the fuse panel.

That would be handy since the connection is already at the cig lighter.

What color/which wire is the hot wire for the TCS to tap into, I think I remember reading about it being the pink one ?

12v accessory would be another good spot but I'd have to run more wire over to the fusebox, so I think I'm gonna try the TCS.

Thanx. I will wire it up today at lunch.

I finally got tired of forgetting to unplug my cig lighter power setup (which is not ignition switched) and coming out to find the car dead, LOL.

Why not use one of the rear O2 sensor plugs for it?

I originally wired the LC1 up to be "removable/portable" to swap into other cars, and all the power/ground wiring for it is already in the cabin. I have come to the realization that it doesn't really need to be mobile and I just need to wire the power/ground to a better source than the cig lighter so it doesn't drain the battery if I forget to unplug it.

If you can find an easy way to route the wiring, you can use (as said above) an old O2 connector. They can be lopped off of an old NBO2 or O2 extension and use the car's switched 12v heater source and ground distribution pack.

Yeah, thanks guys, I've seen all the posts on how to wire it into the O2 harness...

All my wiring is already inside the cabin except the wideband O2 sensor itself which passes through the firewall. I'm not gonna rewire the whole thing, just needed some suggestions on where a good spot is to tap for high-current +12v power inside the cabin.

I have an extra pre-cat O2 bung for the wideband, and have no need to use it as a narrowband.

Thanks,

You can't do that on an LS2 GTO though, the power is not constant.

I have two LC-1s, one permantly mounted in my car and a portable one for other vehicles. I rigged a 12 cig adapter for power. I did have to seperate the ground wire as from the adapter. You definitely don't want your LC-1's heater ground being on the same point as the signal grounds. You can have the starter back feed into the LC-1's analog inputs and fry them. Numerous dead LC-1's out there. Be careful.
