Default P1415 came back AGAIN after replacing the check valve!!!

I did a search on P1415 on this site, the first time I had it pop up. I had new smog tubes due to the wrong year headers sent to me, (I have a 98 Formula and they sent me the headers for a 2000). Anyway, I got the P1415, which according to LS1Tech, says it is the driver side smog tube check valve. I went to Fairway Chevy here in Vegas and bought another check valve and installed it. I erased the code, but it just came back yesterday. After I had headers installed, I had rear )2s turned off, EGR turned off, but NOT the AIR injection system. Do you think this is causing the code? If both sides were off, i should get a P1416 for the passenger side!! This is really pissing me off. I just listed the car locally for sale due to this problem, and I have no time to continue fooling with this car. I should have left it stock. Oh well. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Make sure there are no obstructions in smog tube (area welded to header). Un bolt check valve pipe @ header and make sure there is a clear air path going into header. It may be welded up like mine was causing p1416 code. I simply drilled a small 3/16's hole to clear path. I hope this helped.

Check Engine Light should go out after 3 cold starts if problem (blocked air path) is corrected.

You can buy 12" long drill bits at Home Depot to make the job easier.

Also check for leaking weld around tube at header, it should be completely sealed. If air leaks bad enough in this area, code 1415,or 1416 will show. To check, shine flashlight around outside of tube while looking down through tube.

I do have hooker supercompetition headers, so I will pull the tube at the base of the header and see if there is an obstruction. I will also check the hose and the pump. Thanks for the ideas! So it wouldnt be related to the tune I got? Thanks.

you guys were right!!! I found the tube deep inside was completely sealed. Took a phillips screwdriver and a hammer and tapped it through.
