Default P0342 code & hard starting

Im tuning a 383 heads/cam car that pops this code up even after clearning...it has a hard start issue where sometimes it will start first shot, other times it will take 2 or 3 try's. I've read it can be the cam bolts backing out, or possibly a bad sensor, pinched wires, etc. The new motor already had about 1000 miles before he brought it to me so im not sure if I should be worried about the cam bolts at this point or not.

Another issue I came across is his injectors. He installed 42lb delphi injectors which are rated at 43.5psi blah blah blah meaning they are more like 50lbers in his TA. Problem is within 30 seconds of resetting the trims they go right to +25 on both banks meaning its adding a ton of fuel to get to stoich. Im about to head off to the exhaust shop to have a bung for my wideband installed so I'll figure out whats going on a bit further then. BUT my concern is if they are adding 25% to get to stoich that means i'd need to cut off 25% off of his IFR table which means he'd be right around 38lb injectors rated @58psi. Injectors were bought new im not sure what to think. I havent checked for intake leaks or the like at this point. Anyways on to his combo

98 TA M6
383
patriot S3 heads
216/220 115lsa cam
LT headers, no cats
EGR & AIR in place
3.42 gears stock rear
BBK intake cannot get V below .62 without modification
Volant CAI
flowmaster cat back

if need be I'll try and get the base file I threw in later as well as some scans but wanted some input in the issues this car has.

The only thing I can offer is to double check fuel pressure to make sure he's getting good fuel pressure. I know this wouldn't be highly likely at idle, but it's a thought. Perhaps a dying pump or worn out regulator?

I know its a new 255lph pump, not sure about the regulator though. Thanks
