I have all the mods listed in my sig and just installed my cam. It needs a tune pretty desperately but the converter has stopped locking in the car and only has 3 gears now. Anyone know if I can get a good tune with tuning it the way it is and if I will have to retune it after I install a replacement converter?

I think it's more likely just not locking in 4th, and 3rd vs 4th
is not too distinct into a slushie donut of a converter.
For diagnostic purposes set all the misfire tables to 32767
and see if the symptoms go normal. If so you could go and
work the original values up to where they stop "detecting"
on you. Also things might get better once the cam is dealt
with. But even with stock cam I had to kill misfire detection
for my present converter (and I just left it killed although
I'd prefer some detection for gross problems).
