Default P1810 Code?

It says TFP Val Position SW Circuit Malfunction..

What does this mean? I have a SLPMaf..
Should I just clear it and see if it comes back??

TFP Val. Position Sw. = Transmission Fluid Pressure Manual Valve Position Switch. This consists of five pressure switches ( two normally closed and three normally open) and a Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT)sensor combined into one unit. This is according to my 98 Helms. One of the many actions it advises is to check trans linkage & fluid. Also to check wiring terminals at transmission.
Helms manuals are a good investment. <img src="images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

Hi there,
There was a bulletin issued for this code showing under heavy use. The clutch, and more specific, bronze material would end up on the pressure switch, creating a slight short.
The revised switch has a membrane over the switch to stop this condition.
It is readily visible once the pan and filter is removed.
Just remember torque specs, as you can crack the switch during installation.
Besttoyou, c4c5
