If Microsoft made the Op Sys for Cars...
2) the pop-up selling you some a import with a 4cyl Hybird
3) getting spam'd
4) having a virus hit while your on a road trip.
Apple would make a car that was powered by the sun, reliable,
five times as fast, and twice as easy to drive, but would only run
on five per cent of the roads.
unless you put windows on it.
then the Apple would be identically vulnerable to the same virus/adware/spyware/bugs as the PC.... except that all drivers wont work on it.

no..
the fundamental problem with macs has always been a lack of backward compatibility.
years ago, when there was actually a new processor every year or so (and not just a Mhz increase), there was two routes you could take...
build on the predecessor... or start from scratch.
the standard IBM compatible PC could run a program written for a 286 on the 386... then on the 486... then on the 586/Pentium... 686...and onward...
they all retained compatibility.. so the software was already there.. without software, a machine is useless... so with the software base there, they kept growing.
Macintosh/apple took a different approach.. every couple years, they would come out with the best computer they could make... this was with good intention to build a better product, but the problem became software... who wants to go buy new software to use your new computer when you just bought software.. or worse, just had a custom program made for your biz (not a cheap investment..)...
the only people that really needed the power on a large scale, were graphic designers(and later, video..)... and some school/researchers who needed raw processing power and could make their own software...
Apple has since wised up, and grown from there...and eventually, they even gave in and became PC compatible too... but thats the reason why macs only run a small percentage of the available software...
errr, ummm....now back on topic....
i dont want my windshield to turn blue, tell me theres a general car fault, then crash.
