Default quick question about unplugging pcm

ok the guy i bought my car from back in august did some pcm work on the car and i don't really know a lot about it, but anyways when he did he left it hanging under the dash and i can't get it to slide into its slot under the dash without unplugging it to turn it around...so my question is will it cause any problems if i unplug it to flip it over and then plug everything back in...he did some tuning on it and i don't want to lose any of it but i want to be able to put the panel back on and not have it hanging

It won't do any harm to it...The most it will do is make the PCM learn all of the parameters again... I unplugged mine yesterday to run my Wideband so I do have some experience in this...

I'm confused too - whatever it is, disconnect the battery first.

well i went and looked at it a little closer and it looks like it has clips to open it up but i didn't try because there isn't much light in my garage....the pcm is under the hood where its supposed to be but i do know there is a maf translator box under the hood where i can adjust my fuel and timing....it may be something along those lines? if i can find his number i'll try to call him and find out exactly what it is but thanks for the help guys

Sounds like the BCM (body control module).
