And here I am swapping to an LS1 just so I can use HPTuners to tune my car (95 Caprice)...just kidding, I have a million reasons for swapping an LS1 into the car. I've always used Tunercat to tune LT1's, and I've been really pissed about the whole Moates nonsense of buying a roadrunner in order to get the OBD2 version. I refuse to do that as I see the roadrunner as 100% worthless to me. That said, I do tune LT1 cars a lot, and I will continue to tune LT1 cars a lot (I love Impala SS's, and they come with LT1's), and I'll always need OBD1 and OBD2 LT1 software...It'd be REALLY nice to have it all in one package, including 3 bar converted LS1 stuff and normal LT1 software all in one package. I am used to the TC interface, but sometimes it gets annoying and hokey (I don't do it for a living, but I do get paid to tune LT1 cars). I haven't used HPTuners yet, but a tax refund is imminent, and I could get started playing with it on my truck (LQ4) before I get the car back together and have to jump into a totally ridiculous tune on that...so sending some money of mine to HPTuners is in the near future, and I'd love to be able to play with LT1's with it as well.

I have HPtuners... for all LS1 years 98-02 and it is great. It is by far the best tuning software on the market today, no comparision. i have been tuning with hptuners for ~3 years since version 1.7 came out and currantly have 2.14 is the program work wonders. I have seen my friend use tunercats and another use LS1-Edit and i would not take either on of them if they gave it to me.

As a side note, I've got an LT1 of my own in the driveway now (down for a motor build of course) as of about two months ago. So I'm motivated to get something working in this regard.
Maybe we can get something working in this regard. Maybe a 'partial' LS1 swap? Hmm...
Apologies for the forced-Roadrunner deal when it comes to TunerCat offerings, but that's the only way it can be provided outside of the Jet offerings. I'm against forcing the purchase of one thing to get another, but that's just the way it worked out. I agree with you, if you're tuning mostly LT1s, then you'll find no use for the Roadrunner.

OBD1 and OBD2 solution would work out great for us. IMHO I think it is a great market with plenty of potential.It would be nice to have a user freindly scanner/programer for the mass's.We use LT1 edit and get bye....I think a nice Interface will help reserect the Gen 2 stuff.

I'm getting ready to buy tuning software and was wating to see what HPT was going to do for suport! I got the awnser I was looking for. (well not the one I wanted) If you are wating for LT1 HPT software its going to be a long time!!!

I would buy it for the OBD2 96-97 cars. And if I could use the same software for my 01 SS and 05 Silverado I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
2 and 3bar OS's would be sweeeeeet!

I would def buy it. I live in BFE New Mexico, and no around me can tune my car. I know there is Lt1 edit, but would like something a little simpler to use. If i could, i would build and install MegaSquirt on my car, and go that route. Free software, and lots of support.
