How quick do i need a tune?

ill first start off by saying in august of 06' i installed a 232/234 .595/.598 112 cam and got it dyno tuned later that month... fast foward 6 months. over xmas break i installed a set of untouched 243 heads, and a 90/90 set up.. the only real problem im having right now is surging when it first gets started up..i usually give it a little gas to help find its idle, but after a few minutes itll stay around ~900-1000rpms.. the car runs stronger then ever though. i think im going to pull a plug to see how it looks, but i was hoping i could get by driving it like this until i get my nitrous hooked up and then ill get it re-tuned around may. will it be ok to drive it like this?

You really could use a WideBand to determine where you are. Do you have any logging/tuning software?

You might also consider purchasing scanning/tuning software of your own, or use a friends.
IIRC, a wideband is for WOT.

Yeah you need to get your a/f ratio checked and get a tune from a professional.

i know that... thats how i got my car tuned when i had my cam installed... i had dyno tuning done.. my question is will it be ok to drive my car until like may?

i don't see why not. other than the surging the computer should be able to keep your a/f at part throttle very close. i would try and avoid w.o.t since you may or may not be running alittle leaner now.
