Default Base Running Airflow Hptuners

I am haveing a hard time figuring out how the "Base Running Airflow" table works in relation to the other tables. Could someone explain.

I think this is the same as the Desired Idle Airflow table in EFI Live. If so, then...

This is the minimum airflow your car needs to maintain idle across various engine coolant temps. Other airflow tables like the throttle cracker and follower use this as the existing "foundation" and they are added on top of this.

So what do they mean when they are dialing in the RAF , are they talking about Base Running Airflow? IF so how do you do it or how do you check it to make sure it is correct?

You have to log the idle trims in your scanner. LTIT's + STIT's = correction. The correction is then added to the Base Running Airflow.

All i have in my idel PIDs is ( LTIT Gear/ACoff, LTIT PN/Acoff, idel adapt STIT) are either of these what your talking about

SSpdDmon, have you noticed that on a lot of cars LTIT is just stock on some arbitrary number and doesn't change often? i usually just go off STIT these days...

about how long do I need to log these and should I do it from a cold start? (what is your def of a cold start?)

I'm limited to 4 cars between mine and my friends. But, I see it updating... The next time you see it stuck, see if you can capture the data. I'd be curious about that.

You want to log all of those I would assume. If your an M6 car, then you don't need the P/N pid. LTIT+STIT=correction.

I will log those and the next thing will be compute the calculation and then input it into the Base Running Airflow table?
I will let you know how it turns out.

If you look at the Dynamic Airflow value when the
engine is at target RPM, this is a good value for the
corresponding point in the base running airflow table.

i think jimmy says to make a dynair vs ect histo, right jimmy?
i've been thinking of doing that, but since AFR during cold startup is much richer than usual, and there's lot of modifiers involved, it'd be hard to deduce if that's what the car wants. but it'd be a experiment, any takers?

To make it real easy on ya Len, do this....log all of those parameters you mentioned, also add desired airflow. I have always just looked at this number, it has worked better for me than doing the math on the trims. You will be extremely close after the first run and almost perfect after 2 or 3 runs through both in gear and in park if you are an automatic.

Why does one of my tabled have all zero's in it?

RedWS6 00,
the excel file was made back in days of HPT 1.7, when you couldn't make custom histograms. these days if you want to fix your RAF, just do a STIT vs ECT histogram and then special-paste-add it on top of your corresponding RAF row (just the gear one for M6, you gotta do two separate full cold->full warm passes for A4)
