autometer tach is way off help please!!!

Default autometer tach is way off help please!!!

ok so i have a autometer phantom tach. and its adjustable between 4,6,8 cylinders. i set mine to 4 like i was suppost to but while loging on efilive today i was watching my rpms when i went wot and it was 1000 rpms off. when i was at 6000 on the autometer i was only at 5000 on efilive...

whats going on here?

Did you mean to say you set it to an 8 cyl correct? If so, it might not be that the new tach is off but the factory mass produced tach could be off is more likely. Either way I would def make sure you have it set for the 8 cylinder.

no the ls1 tach runs off a 4 cylinder signal. not like your old school v8s that ran a 8 cylinder signal i thought. so i set mine up for a 4 cylinder.

In addition, Has the tach been adjusted to read a 5v square wave signal? I had to send mine back to autometer so they could reset it to read the ls1 signal properly. It took like 2 weeks and I had it back.

your saying my tach wil not read properly until i send it back to autometer for recalibration? thats pretty stupid.

when I got mine it was configured as the default which is 12v analog sine wave signal. LS1 uses a 5v square wave signal. Call autometer. They should do it free of charge. I just needed to pay for shipping when I did it.

do you have autometers number? everytime i try to get a hold of them they send me emails.
