Default Tech 2 question

Just wondering if there is any way to delete the rear 02's with a Tech 2? Or is it only available with the various tuning software. Reason is I have ready access to a Tech 2 and the SES light is getting annoying.

No, the Tech 2 can't do it.

I do wonder though, whether a TechII could stuff an
"export" tune from GM into any old F-body PCM. And
if any of the major tuning tools support the export
OSes, whichever ones might exist. Would be neat to
know. Just for information.

I wonder if any of our overseas brothers have run
across obvious export OSes in their or friends' cars.
With a proper reference number something might be
found for the TechII. You never know.

Yes that works fine. That's what I did in the beginning when the LS1 first came out and people wanted to swap them into street rods. There was no tuning software then so I used to flash the PCM's with export VIN's. No EGR, no AIR pump, no cats, and no rear O2's. I could add a VAT's module to the harness and the whole package ran great with no MIL on!

I should clarify that. Not any export VIN got rid of the emissions equipment. It had to be a "Gulf States Export", which almost all headed to Saudi Arabia.

interesante. easy way around I had not thought about that. If anyone has an export vin I can try it and report back. We have the sps software and tech 2 flash at work.

Like Spear said.. it works fine for that. Or any passthru programmer will do the same thing. You just need a valid vin # and you are all set.
