42 lb injector problems
42 lb injector problems Im having problem with 42s at idle. Its running pig rich at idle even though the a/f is reading 14.7. Its dumping so much fuel, it blows black smoke and fouls the plugs after a few mins. I have rescaled the injector table (B4001) in efi. Im guessing I need to mess with the injector pulse width to get these to idle right (B3701). How much so you change this table by? Also what other tables should I mess with?
That's a big cam, it's probably false lean from the overlap. The trouble is, it fools the o2s just like the wideband. You can try bringing the idle RPMs up some to try bring the overlap down and it should get better. If you stay closed loop, I'm not sure what can be done other than that.

So I assume that your idle is under the point where they are used? If yes, all you need is a little VE tuning. TBH, I've never done this (on an LSx) but why not just pull fuel through the VE and let it idle with a new set of plugs and tune by the plugs and your VE table?

Nope. I think hpt might have a custom os for 98's
But you can run open loop and get much the same effect with stock PCM anyway, just not as nicely with the 98 due to dual VE and less resolution in the seconday ve.
(ie) As mentioned dont fuel off your O2 sensors. Use VE and/or MAF
