Default MAF question ???

Hi guys ,i have camaro 98 i want to know if i want to remove a maf what can i do?

my car it Modified so i want to a dvice naw

i keep the maf or remove ?

.... why do you want to remove the MAF?

if you remove it then you must tune speed density. or speed density Open loop.

but i think when i remove maf its good with blowr ? and what do you think remove or not

Some people prefer to run Speed Density (SD) versus using a MAF. You would need to remove the MAF if you are at it's maximum function/limit. How much boost are you running? Unfortunately, the 98 PCM's can not be upgraded to more current OS's. I believe with HPT, you can apply a 2-bar custom OS to your 98 OS. This would allow you to properly dial in your VE table, run SD, and ditch your MAF.

Don't confuse SD with Open Loop (OL). Speed Density is a strategy to calculate airflow (or engine load). Open Loop is function of whether or not the PCM is receiving feedback from the O2 sensors. You can operate the engine in SD mode under Open Loop or Closed Loop.

You'll better go with a newer PCM, 2 bar MAP and a program capable to handle it.
You'll need some rewiring too (the pin's are different)

****... it's a LOT more than some re-wiring... Better to re-harness the whole engine if you go this route.
