For optimal driveability there are also custom OS's that allow you to run open loop and tps v rpm fueling. As Horst says cams with overlap will throw closed loop fueling out.
This is partly why most hardcore tuners run open loop permanently. It also gives the tuner total control over fueling across the entire operating range.
