Part throttle efficency question.
In the process of debating whether to install headers on my formula, I had some one repeat the age old wisdom... "Yer gonna lose all your low end torque." Of course I have seen dyons, and while it does move the power curve up, Most see gains everywhere, not just high RPM.
But it got me thinking. A 1.75" primary tube is definitly too big to be efficient at 2000rpm, and WOT(dyno), so at 2000rpm and 25% throttle, it should be even more inefficent. I doubt it has any scavenging effects at all, probably plenty of reversion. So you would probably loose Part throttle torque.
So maybe this is where the old "wisdom" comes from"?

Who drives their car at 2000RPM all day anyway? You only need maybe 30HP to maintain momentum at that RPM. Its 3500RPM up that counts...
Don't care what stick you give it, LS1s sucks eggs at 2000RPM NA. Don't worry about it.

You are right, though, that it takes little HP to maintain mometum and also that the LS1 sucks eggs (with stock heads) at 2000RPM(in sixth gear).
