How important will a tune be for this scenario?
Hey all,
Thanks in advance for reading/responding. 98 Z-28, mods in sig, thinking of going to the SLP LS6 intake w/EGR.
I do not have tuning software, live in Memphis, have not heard of anyone around relatively close to do a tune.
Yeah I know I could do the EGR and AIR mods, and get a LS6 manifold from someone on the "Parts for Sale" a bit cheaper, but I don't want the SES lights blaring till who knows when I can get it tuned.
Big question is; is a tune nessesary after I install the LS6 manifold or will it run decent until I am able to find a shop / afford the tune?

Around town it will run ok, but go into the upper rpms (beyond where the LS1 falls off) and you could be running pretty lean.
A guy I know recently purchased an LS6 off of the classifieds and just added the EGR port to an LS6 intake. This might be a cost effective method for you. PM TA1976, he is the one.
