When i got my cam installed and tuned, my car has a problem with "warm" start. This happens when the car has been running for any amount of time > 10 mins. You turn the car off go run a quick 10 - 15 min errand or what not go and restart the car and struggles to catch idle for 20 or so seconds beofre it fully catches idle. It will stumble around 500 - 700 RPMs going up and down till it cathes...

When you turn the car off, the IAC position is supposed to reset to 310. Mine resets to 190. Now my tuner has cahnged it in my computer for it so say 310 when you shut the car off. it is not responding, so i swapped IAC sensors thinking that the sensor is bad. NOPE still does not reset.

Anyone else having this problem or do they know how to fix it????

lol i hope you find something in there that works for ya.

 

you ahve saved me numerous times.. car is much better. the only time it bucks not is 1500-1600 RPMs. that is 3mph zone. a gear would fix that. and the hesitation is really not there anymore under 2K RPMs it is b/c i am only making 185 HP and lots o TQ so the motor can not spin it up that fast other than that

 

Cool, im sure with a little more fine tuning and a gear set you can get it all to go away. Did you get a sound clip yet?

 

Adjusting the set screw isn't going to cure the fact that your IAC is "parking" itself at 190 steps. That should be adjusted in the Idle Airflow Parked table, which is for determining where the IAC valve should be at key-on and key-off positions. The other option would be to increase the Start-up Friction Airflow settings so that extra air is added post start-up for the first 20 seconds or so.

 

No not yet. This weekend i will b/c i need to back to the tuner b/c i threw 3 codes.. Forgot to adjsut for them.

P0140, P0155, P0160.. all O2 sensor related issues..

man i dont think that with anymore tuning that the bucking will be gone totally. i think that we exhasuted everything?

 

I was there when i adjsuted the PARK table.. he set it to 310. And the my PCM took it, but it does not apply it....

Now for the Start-Up Friction AirFlow, never heard of that.. will mention that

 

yeah i wasnt 100% sure what his problem is, i meant to copy the sticky, oops. I am not the best idle tuner yet. My skillz will be tested soon.

 

Idle Airflow Parked isn't measured in steps. It's measured in grams/second of airflow, which sounds to me like he was looking at a different setting. There's a default IAC park position value that he could have changed that's measured in steps. That one is 310 in my tune. But the description for that setting is as follows:

I built the engine and pulled out the old motor and mounted the new one on the cradle. Its almost in the car, just waiting my new slave and master cylinder then the car will be remated to the front end/cradle. Then I have to tune it and break in the clutch. Then it will hit the dyno. Keep ya posted. Should be up and running by the weekend provided everything goes according to plan.

Im hoping for 450HP. Ill take what i can get though.

Spec 3+ is what im running with an adjustable master cylinder, i am sure the same setup would work for you provided you install it and break it in properly.

Not all specs go boom. It is my personal belief that the ones that boom are not properly setup, or use worn flywheels, or were not broke in right, or did not use an adjustable master to tweak engagment points. That is just my personal feeling. I know quite a few people that have had good luck with SPEC clutches.

I not even going to waste my $$ on an LS7 with the amount of power I plan on making.
