Auto tap cable won't fit laptop???

Auto tap cable won't fit laptop??? It's been a few years since I've used auto tap but we got it out the other day and the connector won't fit in my new laptop. If I remember right there is a 9 pin connector and I need 15 pins. Do I need an adaptor or something?

The Autotap cable uses a 9 pin serial cable. The 15 pin connector on your laptop is probably for a video monitor. Most new laptops don't have a serial port on them anymore. You will need eitther a USB to serial adapter or a PCMCIA serial card.
