Default Best Fan Settings

What settings do you guys recommend for fan turn on and turn off? What temps should they come on at and go off at?

more importantly, go for a drive and see what range of temps your car operates in. Set the fans to come on on the higher end of the temps (IE: while sitting at a stop light)

With the stock thermostat, I use fan settings very similar to these.

I run the hypertech numbers, since they make the thermostats. They are kind enough to print them in thier instruction manuals.

I have a 160 stat. I took the stock settings and dropped them 30*F or 35*F (I can't remember which - most likely 35) for the on/off settings.

ditto with sobbaka79.
if you have a stock stat id say, leave em alone.you would just be fighting the fan and the thermostat. if your running a 160 ,i run mine quite close to sobbaka79 s.

Shouldn't there be at least a one degree difference between on/off between low and high? What does the PCM do when it sees 185?

It turns the low speed off and the highspeed on.

I think you're looking at it backwards.

When temps hit 185, the low fan comes on. If they keep climbing with the low fan on, the high fan will come on at 195 (both fans will be running).

When temps fall, the high fan will turn off at 185 (leaving just the low fan running). If they fall below 175, the low fan will shut off.

Make sense?

Actually MotoRad makes the T-stats. Here is what Hypertech recommens. I included the C conversions for the TC users.
