Default Tuner

Which tuner would be preferred for mail-order tune?

Mad Tuner (Madz28)
or
PCMforless

Where are you from? I would consider finding a local tuner first then mail order 2nd.

Problem being I was kinda hoping to start with a mail order that is kind of close then have a local fine tune it. Engine has overgone a complete change so I need a starting point.

Talk to your local tuner, maybe you can take him your PCM and he can write it on a bench harness.

Only other problem is that i might take it out of state to a more reputable tuner. I live in VA and we have a few mustang shops around here but have heard good and bad things. I really am looking for a mail order tune to start so I can check the basics at home then trailor it to a tuner for some dyno time.

I used madz28 for my mail order tune and am VERY please. check my sig. thing is, the tune curently in my car is for the same setup, exc. stock short block. shortly after doin the heads/cam in my car, I developed rod knock and rebuilt. and upped to 383 at the same time. the next spring, when I got it all done, he sent me a new flash to change for the 383. well, I couldnt find my cable/laptop, and then forgot how to F'n do it. never did get around to installing the new tune for the only change being 383 CID. anyways long story short, it drove PERFECT before I swapped out the cheap full size stall conv. for this 3800 9" edge conv. only prob. now is I got a little low rpm cam surge. Im pulling good times for my weight/mods (3480 lbs race weight, me in there) and there's still more left to get once I get a dyno tune. but, he got it VERY close apperantly. I highly recomend MADZ28.
