Handheld tuners?
They just have a setting for increasing the PE by so many percent but it doesn't explicitly say what it is doing.
I don't use them to tune, but, was wondering.

PE-power enrichment-comes into play once its delay parameters are met generally to increase fueling to make more power...sometimes also referred to as open loop.
MAF-used for most part throttle fueling & most fueling calculations after 4000rpms in LS1's
each one of these tables(and several more) work hand in hand with each other to figure out your final fueling.
Generally speaking...if all of your tables are setup properly your commanded afr will match your actual...at least thats always my goal.
Its also easier to not only understand but adjust on a dyno when your commanded=actual afr. When they match just move the pe table up or down to figure out max power=done.
Also For a newbie coming in it would be easy for them to get confused when they see their commanded being say 11.5:1 yet their actual is at 10.5:1.
